Digital X-Ray

Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen’s discovery of x-rays in 1895 has been a great benefit to medicine, letting us see inside the human body for the first time. We use x-rays to image many parts of the body, including the heart, lungs, airway, blood vessels and bones. An x-ray (radiograph) is a painless medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Radiography involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging.

Now with over one hundred years of advancements, we are proud to offer the most modern digital x-ray technology at all eight of our offices. In the past, diagnostic radiographic images were recorded to film. With our new cutting edge Swissray Digital X-ray Systems, images are recorded to special high resolution detectors and are processed by computers to be viewed by radiologists. We always strive to provide accurate and reliable reports in a very efficient manner. Every report and study we perform is in a digital format and is available for each referring physician to view via secure internet access on our web portal or on a CD.

Image Quality

Our groundbreaking x-ray systems deliver the best diagnostic image quality and highest detail detectability in the industry. Our innovative technology fully understands the specific requirements of digital imaging, allowing the most convenient, fast and precise patient positioning.

Patient Dose

Our digital x-ray systems operate twice as fast as conventional systems. So now with test times just about cut in half, we expose the patient to less radiation.

Patient Comfort

This flexible unit was designed to perform all direct digital radiographic examinations on recumbent, seated and upright patients with the same precision, automation and efficiency. Far fewer patients have to climb up on the table and hold an uncomfortable position for long periods of time. Virtually all of the views can be done upright, which is easier for most patients. Our X-Ray table holds up to 495 lbs.

Pediatrics

Children are among the most important beneficiaries of our new digital x-ray system. With the ability to perform the examination in seconds and with the lowest patient radiation dose, Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology has minimized much of the fear and anxiety associated with pediatric imaging.
