Syma D. Baran, M.D. is a board certified radiologist since 1989 and was happy to join Zwanger-Pesiri in 2008. She specializes in Breast Imaging and Intervention.

Dr. Baran received her BA degree at Barnard College, Columbia University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa with honors in Biology. She received her MD degree at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Baran completed her internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, and her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Baran has extensive experience in Breast Imaging and Intervention both in hospitals and outpatient facilities. At the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, she was the Assistant Professor of Radiology from 1994 to 1998 and has been serving as the Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine for the last eight years.
