Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach ~ October 18, 2009

Everyone at Zwanger-Pesiri was ecstatic to see such enormous crowds of supporters for the fight against breast cancer, despite the wet and frigid weather. There were over 14,000 people that attended this year event. WOW! That is incredible dedication from the people of Long Island to bring awareness of breast cancer. The amount of donations for this terrific cause was exceptional. With all the breast cancer survivors at the walk with their stories of inspiration and courage, it was a morning we will surely not forget.

I remember 16 years ago when we first became involved as employees, the demographics of the average walker was female 30 to 65 years old. One could not help but notice how much the importance of awareness and involvement has changed. This year, as in the past couple, you saw entire high school football teams, cheerleading squads, men and more men, baby carriages and wagons, young brownies and girl scouts. It was inspiring. Each year you also see a little humor trying to help people cope with the seriousness of the walk. Two of my favorite shirts this year were (1) Save the Ta Ta's (2) Save Second Base

Radio For A Cure Sponsor Luncheon at Carlyle on The Green ~ October 7, 2009

It was, as always, a wonderful time for the Zwanger-Pesiri staff at the sponsor luncheon for Radio for a Cure. It is always great to see Dave Widmer, and the rest of the Long Island Radio Group staff. The stories told by the breast cancer survivors were as touching as ever. At this year's luncheon, Radio for a Cure presented David Dorfman, M.D. of Zwanger-Pesiri with an award for his excellent breast imaging work. Dr. Dorfman specializes in breast biopsies here at Zwanger-Pesiri. We look forward to next years luncheon, and will continue to provide the highest quality of care for women.

Alive After Five: Street Fairs and Concerts in Patchogue ~ July & August, 2009

Zwanger-Pesiri was a proud sponsor for the 9th annual street fair in Patchogue. This year, the four fridays were July 17th, July 24th, August 7th & August 14th. This is always one of our favorite fairs because of all the exciting things to do and the many vendors that line the street. The Patchogue street fair is great for families to enjoy, with five stages of live music, and activities for all ages.

Smithtown Festival Day ~ June 8, 2009

Smithtown Festival Day on June 8th was well-attended and exciting with a wide variety of organizations lined up and down Main Street. The feedback from the community regarding our new Smithtown facility was extremely positive. People were happy to see such a state-of-the-art facility right in the heart of their community. National Multiple Sclerosis Society Walk and Pooch Parade ~ May 3, 2009

This year's Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology walkMS© event was held on May 3rd at Jones Beach State Park and Belmont Lake State Park for the Pooch Parade. These fun walks raise awareness and critical funds, while taking us closer to a cure with each step.The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. They simultaneously fund research for a cure while also helping people who currently live with MS lead more fulfilling lives. Eastern Regional Osteopathic Convention ~ March 26-29, 2009

This year's Eastern Regional Osteopathic Convention was held at the Sheraton Long Island Hotel located at 110 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, Smithtown, NY 11788. There were over 20 speakers who covered a wide variety of topics related to osteopathic medicine. David J. Panasci, M.D. of Zwanger-Pesiri presented on Thursday, the 26th and covered topics in Neuroradiology. Zwanger-Pesiri exhibited on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. As leaders and educators in the field of advanced radiology, our staff is always excited to pass on their knowledge in exhibits and presentations around the world.

We have recently made it much easier for people to remember our website address. With a name like "Zwanger-Pesiri," it can be a bit difficult to remember and spell. We created the web address zprad.com which now brings you right to our website. Our regular address at zwangerpesiri.com still works fine. The address zprad.com should make it much easier and quicker to now find us online.

Swim with the Long Beach Polar Bear Club ~ February 1, 2009

Zwanger-Pesiri was excited to join the Polar Bear Club and the Make a Wish Foundation in Long Beach for the annual jump into the Atlantic Ocean. This year, there were at least 3,500 people who took the plunge for the 12th annual Long Beach Polar Bear Club dip, setting what organizers called a world record for the biggest event of its kind. All proceeds went to the Make a Wish Foundation.
